Solve the following problems.
(1) You go to school 5 days each week. How many days do you go to school in 4 weeks?
Solution: 5 × 4 = 20
There are 20 days do I go to school in 4 weeks.
(2) There are 5 school days in one school week. How many school weeks are in 20 school days?
Solution: 20 ÷ 5 = 4
There are 4 weeks in 20 school days.
(3) Some families are going on a picnic. If 5 people ride in each car and there are 3 cars, then how many people are going on a picnic?
Solution: 5 × 3 = 15
Hence, 15 people are going on the picnic.
(4) There are 25 people going on a picnic. If 5 people ride in each car, how many cars needed?
Solution: 25 ÷ 5 = 5
There are needed 5 cars.
(5) Sudhir bought 4 boxes of pencils and paid 8 rupees for each box. How much did Sudhir spend for all boxes?
Solution: 4 × 8 = 32
Sudhir spend 32 rupees for all boxes.
(6) Sanjeev bought 7 packets of popcorn at 5 rupees per packet. How much did Sanjeev pay for these packets of popcorn?
Solution: 7 × 5 = 35
Sanjeev pay for these packets 35 rupees.
(7) There are 20 children in Aruna’s class. They got into groups of 5 each to play game. How many groups were formed?
Solution: 20 ÷ 5 = 4
There are 4 groups were formed.
(8) There were 50 people attending a party. At each table, 10 people were seated. How many tables were there in all?
Solution: 50 ÷ 10 = 5
There are 5 tables in all.
(9) How many oranges are in 3 bags if each bag contains 6 oranges?
Solution: 3 × 6 = 18
There are 18 oranges in 3 bags.
(10) How many wheels are there on 7 cars if each car has 4 wheels?
Solution: 7 × 4 = 28
Therefore, 28 wheels on 7 cars.
(11) How many rupees do you pay for 9 dolls if each doll costs 5 rupees?
Solution: 9 × 5 = 45
I have pay 45 rupees for 9 dolls.
(12) How many bags do you need for 24 apples if each bag has 6 apples?
Solution: 24 ÷ 6 = 4
I need 4 bags for all apples.
(13) How many oranges do you buy for 18 rupees if each orange costs 2 rupees?
Solution: 18 ÷ 2 = 9
I could buy 9 oranges.
(14) If there are 42 cans how many packs will be required if 7 cans are put in each pack?
Solution: 42 ÷ 7 = 6
The required pack is 6.
(15) There are 48 sweets and 8 boys. How many sweets will each boy get?
Solution: 48 ÷ 8 = 6
Each boy gets 6 sweets.
(16) There are 72 bananas and 9 girls. How many bananas will each girl get?
Solution: 72 ÷ 9 = 8
Each girl gets 8 bananas.
(17) If there are 7 plants in each of 7 rows, how many plants are there in all?
Solution: 7 × 7 = 49
There are 49 plants in all.
(18) If for 8 toys you have paid 56 rupees, then what is the price of each toy?
Solution: 56 ÷ 8 = 7
The price of each toy is 7 rupees.
