An informal letter is a type of unofficial letter. It is used to write to our close ones like friends, family or relatives. The main purpose of this letter is to use it as a personal letters that are not used for official purposes. We use an informal letters to ask and communicate with our friends or family members. Basically informal letters are written in an un- familiar or gossipy tone. In informal letters your written language is more friendly and loving as compared to formal letters language. Informal type of letter is also called as a friendly letter.
DO’s
1.) Always mention the address of the receiver precisely.
2.) Mention the subject of the letter clearly in the second paragraph.
3.) It is an unofficial letter, so you can use casual language.
DON’Ts
1) Do not forget to check all the details before sending the letter , especially address of the receiver.
2) Do not write subject as it is not needed is unofficial letter.

Informal letters are written to check on family members, friends and relatives regarding health and various aspects. When writing an informal letter, always try to ensure to write it in a respective and friendly tone.
