Solve the following word problems:

(1) Mohini bought 2 kg 250 g of rice, 3 kg 450 g of pulses, 1 kg 625 g of sugar and 780 g of salt. How much weight she had to carry with her?

Ans: 8 kg 105 g weight she had carry with her.

(2) Mohit carries books, note – books and a lunch box in his school bag. The books weigh 2 kg 856 g; the note – books weigh 1 kg 68 g; the lunch box weighs 186 g and empty bag weighs 890 g. How much total weight does he carry with him?

Ans: Mohit carries 5 kg weight with him.

(3) Last week Meena recovered from her illness. At that time she weighed 46 kg 789 g. Within a week she has gained a weight of 3 kg 675 g.  What is her weight now?

Ans: 50 kg 464 g weight Meena is now.

(4) The total weight of 3 gunny bags is 100 kg. If two of them weigh 28 kg 685 g and 37 kg 348 g, what is the weight of the third bag?

Ans: The weight of third bag is 33 kg 967 g.

(5) A gas cylinder weighed 42 kg 220 g. Due to leakage, 6 kg 635 g gas escaped from it. How much does the cylinder weigh now?

Ans: The weight of the cylinder is 35 kg 585 g.
