(1) There are 485 boys and 343 girls in a school. How many students are there altogether in the school?
Solution: 485 + 343 = 828
(2) A postman delivered 254 letters in the morning. He delivered 180 letters in the afternoon. How many letters did he deliver altogether?
Solution: 254 + 180 = 434
(3) A fruit seller sold 350 oranges, 432 apples and 189 bananas. How many fruits did he sell altogether?
Solution: 350 + 432 + 189 = 971
(4) For the school winter carnival Divya sold 234 tickets, Kiran sold 169 tickets and Arpita sold 245 tickets. How many tickets did the girls sell altogether?
Solution: 234 + 169 + 245 = 648
(5) There are 438 passengers in ship A, 212 passengers in ship B and 375 passengers in ship C. How many passengers are there altogether in the three ships?
Solution: 438 + 212 + 375 = 1025
