(1) Find the length of the rectangle whose:

(a) Area = 320 sq. cm and breadth = 16 cm

Solution: Length = (320 ÷ 16) cm = 20 cm

(b) Area = 1800 sq. cm and breadth = 40 cm

Solution: Length = (1800 ÷ 40) cm = 450 cm

(c) Area = 216 sq. cm breadth = 12 cm

Solution: Length = (216 ÷ 12) cm = 18 cm

(2) Find the breadth of the rectangle whose:

(a) Area = 187 cm² and length = 17 cm

Solution: Breadth = (187 ÷ 17) cm = 11 cm

(b) Area = 315 mm² and length = 21 mm

Solution: breadth = (315 ÷ 21) mm = 15 mm

(c) Area = 10000 m² and length = 100 m

Solution: Length = (10000 ÷ 100) m = 100 m

(3) Find the perimeter of a rectangle whose:

(a) Area = 1050 sq. cm, length = 35 cm

Solution: Breadth = (1050 ÷ 35) cm = 30 cm

∴ Perimeter = [2 × (35+30)] cm = (2 × 65) cm = 130 cm

(b) Area = 18 cm², breadth = 6 cm

Solution: Length = (18 ÷ 6) cm = 3 cm

∴Perimeter = [2 × (3+6)] cm = (2 × 9) cm = 18 cm

(c) Area = 4800 m², breadth = 60 m

Solution: Length = (4800 ÷ 60) m = 80 m

∴ Perimeter = [2 × (80+60)] m = (2 × 140) m = 280 m
